Do you know Greenland is called the place of Ice and Snow. This marvelous place is to the North-East of North America. Tow places the Baffin Bay and Davis Strait separate from the northern Island of Canada. When we say about the Baffin Bay then we should know this to the Labrador Sea which located between Baffin Island and the west coast of Greenland. Other hand the Davis Strait is a southern arm of the Arctic Ocean that lies north of the Labrador Sea.

 Greenland’s inclusion in Denmark is remarkable and from a historical perspective it is an autonomous territory within Denmark Kingdom which is the largest Island in the world. People should know that the distance between Denmark and Greenland is 3532 km. The another name of Greenland is Kalaallit  Nunaat. Citizens of Greenland are the permanent citizens of Denmark and of the European union.

In Greenland about 80 percent (1710,000 kilometre ) of the area is famously covered with ice and snow. After the Antarctic ice sheet this is the second largest ice sheet in the world and it contains significant amount of freshwater. The vast white mantle shapes not only the geography but also global climate systems. Imagine towering glaciers that calve gigantic icebergs into the surrounding sea, creating a surreal frozen skyline that photographers and explorers dream about. Marvelously the contrast is stunning icy blues next to endless stretches of pure white with amazing glimpse. Really the dynamic environment of Greenland showcase the live poem, where the climate and nature constantly interacting.

It is wonder to say that sometimes this large untouched beauty of  chunks or sheets of ice get separated and fall down to the seas and the floating ice of this fall down ice in the sea is called Iceberg, which makes it dangerous cycling for ships.

The Climate of Greenland:

Greenland is located in the polar regions, it is very cold basically in winter season temperature dropping to as low as 30⁰ F That's why Greenland Climate is called polar climate. In this season people can’t observe sun for several months almost darkness temperature is always below 0⁰C. Throughout these months there is little raining and having heavy snowfall. And the people’s activities shift to snowmobile and ski or dogsled. But in summer it is sunny, sun shines 24 hours brightly.

The People of Greenland:

The people of Greenland are called Greenlandic. The majority of the people of Greenland are Eskioms or Inuits, who were the original inhabitants of Greenland, and their culture and languages are deeply rooted in the Arctic environment. They have the largest two ethnic groups, Kalaalit and Inugguit. The main characteristics of greenlandics, they are short and stout, with narrow eyes and high cheek-bones, and the color of their skin is yellow. Their language is called kalaallisuit, which is also their official language. Their main economy depends on their fishing and hunting jobs, which are now moderating. They're following the income sources culture of the development of the tourism industry and oil mining and reflecting western cultural influences. Greenlandic culture is a mix of Inuit heritage and Scandinavian influence. Though Danish and English are widely spoken. They celebrate National Day on 21 June.

In regards of hunting nowadays they use rifles, In the past they used bows and harpoons and which boats they used for hunting called Kayaks and large boat is called umiak. They hunts mainly seals fish weir uses, whales and polar bears the hunting animals meats they use for eat also sometimes these animals skin after processing they use for making clothes, boats, and tents to live. Many Greenlanders work in education, healthcare, and government.

Greenland's people House, Clothes and life style:

People of Greenland house known as igloos this kind of houses can be made by ice woods, stone or animal skin. To make their house igloo they use thick blocks of Ice. Only in winter season do they make Igloo house only for two to three hours. Reason for using Igloos house in winter is haunting. In summer season they use to live in Sealskin tents called Tou Pigs. Greenlandic people used to eat fish, whale, seal and reindeer together which help them to stay worm, in their tradition these foods called “Kalaalimernit” And regarding clothing people wear warm layers wool sweaters, down jackets, snow boots and hats, traditional seal skin garments which they used basically in festival, and it is called “Parka”.

Regarding transportation there is no roads to connect towns. In winter the main means of transport in Greenland is Sledge. But in modern era people travel by boat, airplane, helicopter, snowmobile. Air Greenland is main airplane.

Nowadays the life of Eskimos has undergone many changes.There is fixed transportation and a fine network of communications. Schools, Colleges and Hospitals have been developed and are smoothly running on air links with Denmark and America and they are becoming closer and closer to the rest of the world.

Greenland is truly a stunning place it's beauty reflected in wildlife - Ice and Snow Indeed Greenland's sweeping ice fields and stark mountains remind people of Earth's ancient rhythms shifting ice.
